Deb Shilkin has a degree in Design (Interior Design) from the University of Technology in Sydney and a Bachelor of Communications from the same university. Inside Out Design (1992) is a sole practice situated in Avalon specialising in Contemporary Residential Design.
Deb has been designing houses, extensions and cabinetry both in Sydney and regional NSW since 1992. She has established a reputation for unique, elegant and restrained designs with an emphasis on combining site specific, environmental information with the design brief and resolution.
Her knowledge and combination of materials, textures and colours together with her desire to bring the outside in, informs her design and results in spaces and objects which are both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
Her use of Computer Aided Design (Archicad) allows her clients to view their particular project from a 3 dimensional perspective thus allowing them to understand the design direction being taken prior to committing to construction.
